There’s nothing like going for the gold. Even when your hair is silver. The 2010 St. Tammany Senior Olympic Games will begin on April 10th. Games are open to all seniors age 50 and over. The Senior Olympics program aims to promote health, physical fitness and improved quality of life for the seniors in our community. Athletes in neighboring states such as Mississippi, Texas, as well as Alabama and Missouri, come to participate and enjoy the games. During the 2009 games, 350 seniors participated in 22 events during a two-week period.
2010 Senior Olympic Schedule Track, Field, and Throw: Saturday, April 10th, Fountainbleau High School Cycling: Saturday, May 8th, Abita Springs, Hwy 36 (by UCM Museum) Volleyball: Saturday, May 15th, Coquille Rec Center, Madisonville Pickleball: Saturday, May 22, Pelican Park, Mandeville Come have fun, develop and boost self-esteem, and enjoy individual accomplishment! Cost is $15.00 for 3 events; some events have additional facility charges. To request a senior olympics application, contact us at 985-892-0377.
